We survived our vacation to Wa. where chalen is now living. We had a lot of fun. We stayed at chalen and nate house. It was cold there for us (like in the 70's) as we were used to the hot utah weather. We went to Kopachuck State park on monday. The tide was way low and we found sand dollars, tiny crabs, learned how to dig for some kind of clam, they had to be a certain size to keep ( like a inch ). We saw some deer come out of the woods and onto the beach. They didn't seem to be very scared. Tuesday we went to Seattle. We rode the ferry across the sound, then walked around the town. We saw pikes market and saw them throw the fish at the fish store, wasnt what i expected but it was cool none the less. Lots of shops where you coud buy stuff from local venders. Kind of like a flee market or fair. We ate our lunch there and tryed lots of different types of sandwiches and got some fresh fish and chips from the fish store, chalen also got a live crab to take home for nate to cook. Wed. we went to the Port Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, it was nice for the temp. to be in the 70's (it seems like at Hoogle Zoo it is always HOT) so it was great to be comfortable walking around the zoo. and seeing polar bears to Baluga whales and walrus. Thurs we went to Dash Beach one of the few sandy beaches in the sound from what we were told. Ben and Molly tried to skimboard. You start running and throw this board down in the water about an inch deep and try to surf on it, they had fun trying. Friday we went to the super mall around Tacoma. We were there for about for hours and didnt make it through half of it, but we did find some good deals on clothes for back to school. WAIT!!!!! The week is already gone. It cant be can it? That means tomorrow we have to leave to go home. What a bummer. We all had a lot of fun visiting with nate and chalen AND THE GRANDKIDS, oh did i mention that the grandkids were fun to be with. We are excited for them to start new adventures in washington and it will be fun to read there blog. Saturday we had a big breakfast that nate cooked with fresh food from a local store ( like non acidic pineapple, peppers, garlic and blueberries among other things) it was good. then about two hours later there complex had a barbeque and aliza, annika and ethan wanted to go so we did. When we went to leave eliza said she would only miss ben and none of the rest of us. We brought ethan home with us so he could go to the morgan fair and show a pig (that uncle jack and co. raised). He has done this for a couple of years and didnt want to miss this year and luckily enough it worked out. Half of his time will be spent at the browns and our half will be split up between us, lora and papa & nana carter. will take what time with him we can and enjoy.
